Why Invest In Gold ?

By Shannon Doty

Gold is one of the most desired metals in the world. It stands the test of time, both in its physical makeup as well as its intrinsic value. It is also considered as one of the most consistent investments there is.

Gold is one of the most precious metals in the world. It can stand the test of time, both in its physical makeup as well as its intrinsic value. It is also considered as one of the wisest investments there is.

Gold can be made into many different things, one of which is jewelry. The easiest and simplest way of investing in gold is purchasing and storing pieces of gold jewelry. You do not have to look very far to acquire these pieces because they are for sale almost everywhere.

Even shopping malls have intricate gold pieces that are for sale to whoever can afford them. The best part about buying gold jewelry is that there can be an actual use for your gold investment other than a piece of financial medium.

Storage will also be less of a hassle because you can store jewelry in your own house or just rent a secured storage space in a bank of your choice.

The value of paper money differs according to the dictates of world economy as well as the economy of the country in which the money is being used.

One of the best things about Investing in gold is that it can stand against the worst economic conditions. The value of gold is hardly affected by inflation unlike real money.

Gold is a very solid asset in every sense of the word and if you are thinking of investing in gold, there can only be rewards waiting for you as long as you have what it takes to keep it safe. - 23196

Tips for Big Profits Using Forex Strategies

By James Smith

There are so many forex strategies out there in the market today, it is very hard for a novice forex trader to pick one which he knows will be profitable without losing a large sum of money making expensive mistakes. A good tip for a forex trader looking for a winning solution is to use multiple forex strategies - this way he is able to diversify his risk, and then see them in action before having to choose which one he will trade with on a full time basis.

Whatever forex strategies a forex trader employs will depend on his personal preferences. Some strategies may work for one but won't for the other. This is because every forex trader wants to realize profits in their own way and in their own pace. Using these forex strategies will surely help the investor make his choice in what stocks to buy and when to buy them.

The most important aspect that a foreign currency dealer needs to be aware of is that the foreign exchange market does not have any centralized exchange for dealing, which means that pertinent information needed by foreign currency dealers, such as volume, and details of buyers and sellers, will not be available to them. They have to rely on more detailed and specific analysis, and develop profitable forex strategies to get them through the reams of information in order to be able to make profitable trades.

Interbank foreign currency dealers, however, have the advantage of seeing the order book, which means that they know when their clients are going to place big trades, and at what price. This is why retail foreign currency dealers have to move faster, and develop robust forex strategies if they want to be ahead of interbank foreign currency dealers, as they have a huge advantage over the average retail investor.

No matter how good the forex strategies are that the foreign exchange professional has chosen, it is useless unless we are effective with our trading. I was always blaming the forex strategies for my losses when I first started out as a foreign exchange professional but when I look back on it the problem was that I was not being consistent with my trading, and not employing good risk management.

It takes an extremely disciplined forex trader to be able to stick to their forex strategies and trade without emotions such as fear and greed entering their forex trading decisions. When you bring human emotion to the table it changes the patterns of your forex trading system and can change the results. If your emotions aren't right for trading it usually alters your trading in a negative way and often turns a profitable trading strategy into loser.

Another problem with foreign exchange dealing is the market operates 24 hours a day, and never stops to sleep. While this is an advantage in some ways it can also be a big disadvantage. The disadvantage for a foreign currency dealer is you cannot watch the market all the time. You can't be there to take all your deal signals. This alone can mean that a number of forex strategies are impossible to follow, if you are sleeping when the strategy gives you a trade, unless you are working with a team of people who can monitor the markets day and night.

Finally, it should be noted that forex trading is not for everyone. I don't know about you but I don't want to spend my life watching charts and I decided a while back that being a forex trader is really not for most people. One solution is to identify forex strategies which use automated programs called robots that will monitor the markets for you 24 hours a day and do the forex trading for you automatically. Using such a system they will enter and exit your trades when the market gives them the signals. For the busy forex trader looking for profitable forex strategies, this is often the ideal forex trading solution. - 23196

Do you really need a home equity line of credit?

By Doc Schmyz

If you own your home you have a financial resource available to you that can help you with your financial needs or concerns. What is it? HOME EQUITY!

Home equity is the value of your home minus the remaining mortgage balance which is outstanding. This equity can be used to cover cost and expenses you may have or be used on home remodeling projects you wish to do.

Would You Want an Equity Line of Credit?

With a normal loan, which deposits a set amount of money in your account and begins charging you interest and payments at a fixed rate until repaid, a line of credit acts sort of like a credit card account. You do not need to pay interest on the full amount you have access to -- only on the amount you have used. (And in some cases you then have access to the account again.)

Using an equity line of credit (also known as a HELOC) gives you greater flexibility with the least cost. Not only can you access the credit only as you need it,your monthly payments will reflect only the balanced used. Some lines of credit have only the interest as the minimum payment which can be helpful when finances are tight.

An equity line of credit is great when you don't have a large fixed amount to spend in one place that will take many years to repay and you want access to the credit without asking for a new loan when you have paid it back.

What can the HELOC be used on??

We can all find lots of uses for a line of credit loan...but here are some of the most common examples.

Consolidate Debts

Using your equity line of credit to consolidate other debts can not only eliminate the stress of multiple bills but can also give you a more favorable interest rate or tax benefit.

Second Mortgage

Use your line of credit to pay off the existing mortgage for better interest rates.

Add On, Update or Go Away

Cover the cost of an addition, redecorate, or go on a trip...all at a interest rate lower then most credit cards.

Ok...so whats the Down Side?

Before succumbing to what seems like 'easy money' it is important to evaluate the additional risk.

In some cases you can't use a HELOC to repay certain loan types. some types of student loans, small business loans, etc. You need to review the "target debt" you wish to use it on before taking out the equity line of credit.

Other items like cars and vacations may seem like a good idea to buy with your home equity line of credit, but with the ability to pay only the interest you may find the motivation to pay off the debt is lacking and end up owing for items that have lost their value or were consumable. Plan to pay off the debt quickly for the most advantage.

Now refinancing a second mortgage may not be a good idea depending on interest rates and your repayment terms. While lines of credit take advantage of current low interest rates you may find that your regular loans protect you better from fluctuating rates if you will not be paying the loan down in the next few years.

Using your finances wisely can give you great relief and freedom. Before taking on any financial obligations it is important to understand the risks as well as the benefits. - 23196

Understanding Forex Scalping

By James Stiller

Have you heard about forex scalping? If you have been exposed to currency trading, then you have. It takes a good amount of discipline and a unique mindset and skills to succeed as a forex scalper.

So many traders make deals just for the sake of making a trade. Again, you must have plenty of discipline and wait for the right amount of information to guide you to make the right decision. Before getting into the forex scalping of trading, you must obtain one crucial amount of advice.

It's something all professional traders know, but often forget: a currency market is in consolidation mode about 60-80% of the time, meaning that it might not move for hours, but then a sudden change may occur. Forex scalpers take advantage of this abrupt and seemingly unpredictable move.

A successful forex trader should learn the skill of recognizing when previous highs and lows are taking place.

Scalpers often use the popular Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) forex to track trading indicators, though they may use customized parameters rather than the standard ones.

By paying attention to the movement of the market and the trading indicators, forex scalpers will know when to have a long entry order and when to have a short entry order. It's also important to look for a wide pip range that is about 20-40 pips, and of course buy low and sell high.

The use of forex trading strategies work out to be a very useful tool for a trader. Allowing the trader to be able to make the most out of a given trading day.

Traders who are familiar with these strategies so will be able to maximize their profits. - 23196

Stock Market Trading Plan

By singapore trader report

A stock market trading plan will not guarantee your success in the markets, but a good plan will enable you to work methodically toward your stock market trading goals while reviewing on a regular basis what is working and what is not. It will act as a roadmap for your trading journey. It will enable you to respond positively and constructively no matter what happens with your individual trades. And, most importantly, it will help you control the only thing a trader can control: his or her own actions.

Finally, stock market trading is a business. It can be a fascinating and sometimes thrilling business, but in the end it is a business. A trading plan helps you treat it as a business.

Successful stock market trading begins with a winning trading plan. It's as simple as that. If you develop a well-conceived trading plan to guide your actions in the stock market you will already have the advantage over most of your market competition. Put simply, it gives you the edge you need to win over the long haul when trading the stock market or forex market.

Finally, stock market trading is a business. It can be a fascinating and sometimes thrilling business, but in the end it is a business. A trading plan helps you treat it as a business.

Here are some important elements of a trading plan.

1. Why am I trading? What are my goals?

The answers to these questions might seem obvious, but they usually are not. Take some time to ask them of yourself, and seriously consider the answers. You may be surprised by what you learn. And whatever the answers, you will have a clearer picture going forward of what this enterprise means to you, and that will help you survive any rough patches.

2. What markets am I going to trade and why?

It is often best to specialize, especially for beginning stock market traders. Many pros make a great living trading the same stock day every single day for years. Choose a market that is appropriate for your experience level and trading style. Consider other factors such as available margin, volatility and liquidity.

3. What is the concept or philosophy behind your trading methodology?

Your trading system must have a concept behind it. Whether you are a value investor like Warren Buffet or a trend trader like George Soros, you should understand why you are doing what you are doing, how your beliefs about the markets define what you will do as a trader.

4. What will be your specific method?

In other words, specifically how will you execute your trading ideas? Will you buy breakouts or pullbacks? Buy oversold or sell overbought? Or will you use specific technical setups such as moving-average crossovers or another indicator-based strategy? Under exactly what conditions will you enter? When will you know to exit?

5. How much money will you risk on any single trade? On trading in general?

This is critical. Of course, start small. But just as importantly, have a plan in place for how much you will risk, emotions don't cloud your judgment when the time comes. The key is to find an allocation that doesn't cause any stress but still makes the trade worthwhile financially. One of the biggest problems with newer traders is that they are trading way too big in relation to their account size. Like when you are forex trading. Trading forex at 100-1 leverage is like introducing your mistress to your wife. Yes, you can do it, but that doesn't make it a good idea. Normally they don't get along too well.

6. What will my trading rules be?

This is also critical. Your trading rules include entry and exit rules, rules governing maximum daily, weekly or monthly losses, maximum risk on any given trade, the maximum number of trades per week, etc., etc. These rules enforce discipline and keep you out of trouble. What stock price will enter at, what stock price will I will exit. Be discplined.

7. How will I record and evaluate my trading performance?

Allow me to repeat myself: This is critical. In fact, this might be the most important element of trading for new traders in the stock market. A new stock market trader who evaluates his trades, winners and losers, in an effort to learn what works and what does not, will make quantum leaps forward in terms of ability and profitability. If you have a working trading plan and evaluate every single one of your trades after you have closed it you have already beaten 95% of the competition.

8. What are my rules for managing profits?

What's the problem with profits? Well, believe it or not there is one, and it's a serious one. It's called euphoria, and it clouds the judgment perhaps more than any other emotion related to trading. Start piling up the profits for the first time and it won't be long before you are convinced you are king of the world. About 30 seconds later you'll be broke, following a series of unwise and exceedingly risky trades. So have a plan for protecting closed profits when you have reached your goals for the week or the month. Don't give them all back.

9. How will I reward myself for following my trading plan?

Don't leave this out. Following your trading plan will bring rewards in the form of profits, but you should also consciously reward yourself for doing so because it is such an important part of successful trading. So if you finish the week or the month (or even the day) without having broken any of your trading rules, find a way to reward yourself. You deserve it. You are in rare company.

If you follow your plan you are improving your chances of becoming sucessful stock market or forex trader.
