Moving On With the Trading Race

By Rick Amorey

2009 will most likely be a new and frightening year for most of us. The economy is in tatters, insurance companies are changing the rules, and the end is so very far away. While we do have a new president that promises to be more than just an act, he's still getting a feel for the position, and mistakes will be inevitable along the way. Simply put, we may be in this position for a while. But we'll recover, I believe.

What does this financial recession mean for the average US citizen? The most glaring repercussion of the financial crisis is the fast drop of available employment. Of course, unemployment is expensive. If we are used to a particular spending habit, old habits are hard to break, and we may find ourselves out of money before getting a new job.

Needless to say, practicing a little frugality is in order. Try to cut back on things that are not wholly necessary, while keeping a few expenses that will keep you happy. As for the cash that you have saved up, set aside what you can for mortgages and other necessary expenses, and use the rest for minor investments.

What possible investments in this recession, you may ask? You don't have to be an expert broker to deduce that most stocks are at a low. Even though prices are down and may continue to go down further, you'll notice that is a bit more stable now than when this whole crisis started. And it's inevitable that recovery happens, and when it does, cheap stocks of today will have nowhere to go but up.

The unfamiliarity of the stock environment, of course, means that things are a bit chaotic. At the end, what's important is that you plan what you're going to do and stick with what you planned out. Stumbling is something everyone goes through in a race, but if you stop and groan at your mistake, you'll still get left behind. - 23196

Trekking the Rough Trading Waters

By Rick Amorey

The world of stock trading may seem amazing, especially in this day and age. With the rise of the Internet, investors can now place their purchases online, which will then be directed to a broker for approval. You can also monitor the market from the comfort of your own home; making the whole process of making money simpler for those looking to invest.

Someone seriously thinking of going into stocks may think that this is the perfect business. There are no employees, no customers, and no products to sell. All you have to do is use your money to make money, knowing when to buy stocks and when to sell them. But while all this is possible in the stock market, this isn't something that can occur overnight. In fact, around ninety percent of investors will end up losing money.

Even with this deterrent, however, many people are interested in entering the trading business. If you are one of these people, all is not lost. You just have to know that it's not something that you'll be successful with overnight. Instead, be focused and disciplined if you plan to get into this business. Sure, you can get to trading immediately, but if you make uninformed decisions in this field, you will most likely suffer devastating losses.

The state of our economy doesn't help, either. It's now more difficult to get into trading these days. But the opportunity is still there, even in times of financial recession. A lot of discipline and focused is needed to study the current trends, and to enable you to make the right decisions based on your observations. Go with this, and you'll be fine.

The stock market is a bit irregular these days, but it doesn't mean that it's impossible to push through. As a matter of fact, when everything starts to pick up, people with a solid investment portfolio will find themselves at the best position to make money. - 23196

The Eisenhower Silver Dollar - An Extraordinary Silver Coin

By Christina Goldman

Investors who prefer very big coins will be attracted to the Eisenhower Silver Dollar. Its edge is receded which, in itself, is not exceptional, and is much like any general coin of its family. But its diameter of 38.1 mm make this silver dollar a delight for collectors of over-sized coins.

Greatness is of course the imbued trait of this coin as it was minted from 1971 to 1978 to honor the 34th President of the United States, also a five-star general whose fabled World War II exploits have been immortalized in many books, both civilian and military tomes at that.

Other coins have been minted in honor of President Eisenhower, and which are totally different from the Eisenhower Silver Dollar. A $1 Eisenhower commemorative coin was minted in 1990 and another will come out in 2015 under the Presidential $1 Coin Program.

The Eisenhower Silver Dollar bears the design of Frank Gasparro who likewise rendered the coins reverse side with the Apollo 11 insignia, an icon to mark the moon landing in 1969. That was also the year that President Eisenhower also died, so this silver dollar has some sort of an alpha-omega interpretation.

The Eisenhower Silver Dollar did not see much circulation owing perhaps to its cumbersome size. However, it was minted again to mark the US bicentennial in 1976. This commemorative coin was designed by Dennis Williams who added the Liberty Bell to the reverse while maintaining the Apollo 11 tribute with the image of the moon. This one maintained the original size of 38.1 mm, however.

Significantly, the Eisenhower dollar was the last mintage to have base metal content proportionate to lower coin denominations. Its cupronickel content for instance is ten times that of the Roosevelt dime, four times that of the Washington quarter, and twice of the Kennedy half dollar. - 23196

The Importance of a Corporation

By Mara Hernandez-Capili

A corporation is a group of people with shares or stocks from a company that make them part-owners of that company. A company may either be a privately held corporation or a publicly held corporation. A privately held corporation is one where owners know each other, or are related to each other. An example of this is the Cargill Company which sells animal feeds and stocks. A publicly listed company is one where shares are sold to anyone who can afford it and who pass up on some tests/ requirements the company has in addition. Shareholders of publicly listed companies do not virtually know each other.

One advantage of a corporation is that the owners have limited liability. For example, when a company that is a corporation lost in court, the corporation is the one answerable or pays the settlements. The worst thing that can happen is for the company the close down. If the company is a sole proprietorship it is the owner who is answerable to any damages and thus he may lose everything he has or even go to jail in the process. Corporations limit the risk and protect its shareholders.

A corporation gives the company huge amounts of initial capital. This is so because more and more people would be buying shares in the hope of gaining annual dividends from the company. With this, it would then be easy for people to invest in the company because of its attractive business packages.

Corporations are known to exist eternally as long as there are shareholders that possess their stocks. This lies in the value that the company is strong and stable. Investors are also attracted to the companys excellent business operations made possible because of the corporations huge capitals. A corporation has a good operations systems and working environment because of the huge capital invested on equipments and manpower which makes it attractive for future investors.

There are a lot of privately-held companies nowadays who switch to making their company publicly-owned for the reasons of: expansion and improvement or sophistication of business models. - 23196
